Student's Corner

Another school year has come to an end. Where does the time go? It seems like only yesterday that we were ushering in the year. Our students are not focusing on what's behind, they're looking forward to what's ahead of them.

We are gearing up for yet another event-packed summer. With a beach trip, youth camp, our 4th of July fund-raiser in Sopchoppy, trips to Wild Adventures, the Back-2-School Bash Lock-in and other events coming up, there's sure to be something for everyone to enjoy. The summer isn't only about having fun. We are going to be starting a new outreach program to challenge our students to not only learn how to be a witness, but to actually put the program into action and witness to their friends and families. Our band, 298, is going to be heading up various outreach ministries to go beyond our walls to touch a community that needs Jesus. Be in prayer over our students and our leaders as we take a giant step of faith and go after God with all that we are to become all that He's called us to be.

Thank you for all that you do and for the support you give us to make a difference in our student's lives.

Women's Ministries

We have several things going on in Women's Ministries, and I am excited about every one of them.

Group Bible Study:  I'm so thrilled to announce the beginning of a Beth Moore study titled, Loving Well. Sis. Tonya Milton will be our guide through this video study, and we can't wait to get started. The dates for our study will be announced through the bulletin board and slide show very soon.

Quilting:  We had our first quilting class in May and it was very interesting. We hope to continue this throughout the upcoming months. There was a wide variety of quilts including traditional hand-made quilts to newer-fashoined machine-made quilts. Mrs. Deon Lewis has graciously agreed to share her knowledge in this area.

August Social:  We are making plans for a WM social on Saturday, August 8th.  The details will be announced soon.  Please check the bulletin board for details on upcoming events in Women's Ministries and join us for some relaxed fellowship with your sisters in Christ.

Boys and Girls Missionary Challenge

We have been learning so much in BGMC. Our latest featured country was Bangladesh. We have learned to pray for the people of this country who are bound by harsh conditions of life, drugs, superstitions and other misleadings. There is more to our lives than being consumed with what we have, what we can get or what we will get to do next. We try to impress upon our children the importance of caring and praying for others. We try to get them to look beyond themselves and see a great big world that is hurting and dying without Christ.

We especially need to pray for the countries of Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, and North Korea. Our world seems to be in a constant state of turmoil. God's word tells us that the last days will bring perilous times. We, as Chrisitians, need to take advantage of the time we have left and reach as many as possible for Christ.
